The following chapters are not that important but good to get the whole picture:
2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 12, 24, 28, 29, 32, 36, 37

Read the examples that are provided in the book (monopoly game, pos and persistence framework) these compliment the example we will follow during the lectures.
