Communication
Many students read this course at the same time as we are many in the course management. To handle the flow of questions that come, we ask everyone to reflect on and follow the guidelines below. Do you not agree? Get in touch, and maybe we will find a better solution!
Course website
This website is used to convey all static information. The website is the hub of the course, and from here, you will find all the information you may need.
Slack
Slack is the communication tool used in the course. You can create an account on Slack yourself by visiting https://coursepress.slack.com/signup. Please note that you must choose to register with your student email address, @student.lnu.se.
Once you have registered, look up the channel #2dv515 and join it. You can find it under +
at Channels.
Keep the following in mind when it comes to Slack communication:
- Always good tone! We want you to ask and ask a lot. There are no stupid questions, and we ask everyone to help answer questions in a respectful and inclusive way.
- Only personal questions should be asked in the DM to "@Fredrik". This can, for example, apply to credit transfer, study interruptions, etc.
- General questions concerning the schedule, assignments, or examinations are always asked in the course open channel.
- Important information from the course management is conveyed in the open channel and attached to the Slack channel as a Pinned message.
- In case of urgent information and more, we use the course's open channel. Make it a habit to always check this regularly.
- Respond with any emoji to all pinned messages in the channel. Be creative! If you do not like the content, convey it. If you become curious, convey it, and so on. This will be a way for the instructors to gauge the situation in the course constantly.
Zoom
During the oral examinations, Zoom is used. Make sure that the sound works and that you can share your screen before the oral examination.
Shortly before oral examinations, a link to the zoom room is published on Slack.
In exceptional cases, email can be used for personal questions. In that case, send the question to [fredrik.ahlgren@lnu.se](mailto: fredrik.ahlgren@lnu.se).
