Setup Guide
This page will help you with some of the prerequisite setup before the tutorials.
⚙️ Setup Guide - Git & GitHub
The SETUP VIDEO and GitHub Helper PDF are separate resources designed to assist with Git and GitHub. They are not linked to each other.
SETUP GUIDE FOR GITHUB - for help with minor setup, downloads & account creation on Github.
GITHUB HELPER PDF - if you need some extra help.
The GitHub Helper guide walks you through creating a GitHub repository, cloning it to your local machine, and pushing changes back to that same GitHub repository. It also covers initializing a local Git repository and connecting it to an empty GitHub repo. While not tied to a specific exercise, this guide serves as a helpful resource for using GitHub to submit work for feedback (for the summer course). It’s a universal guide you can use anytime to create and manage GitHub repositories.
📢NOTE While you will be submitting work through GitLab, Git works the same way on both platforms. By practicing with your own GitHub account, you can become comfortable with Git and version control, helping to reduce stress when submitting exams in GitLab. It’s a great way to improve your Git skills, so feel free to try it out!
