Dear students,

As previously announced, the final opportunity to complete 1DV031 is the retake in August 2021. The overall conditions are similar to the previous announcements (see the news entries from 2020 below). Please take the following key information into account:

• You must register via Ladok for the respective activity session (retake opportunity) by August 16, 2021
• The deadline for handing in your solutions is August 26, 2021, 23:59 Stockholm time
• For Assignment 2, an oral examination session (online via Zoom) with Kostiantyn will be scheduled eventually after the deadline to discuss your solution and the theoretical and practical aspects of the second part of the course
• Regarding the notes about CS Cloud (see below), in case you need to complete Assignment 2 — please contact Kostiantyn Kucher <kostiantyn.kucher@lnu.se> (or via CoursePress Slack) in good time before the deadline.

Please note that CS Cloud will not be available during some parts of the summer, and the existing VMs will be deleted around June 21, 2021 for maintenance reasons:

“cscloud will be shut down for maintenance and upgrades on June 21st. We expect this to take about two weeks, but it might take longer if we run into unforeseen issues. So, to be on the safe side, do not plan for cscloud to be available over the summer.”

“We ask you to shut down your machines before June 21st and make sure that you back up any data on your machines. Please note that all your machines will be removed, so you will have to set up everything again after the upgrade.”

This announcement concerns those of you who have registered on Ladok for the August 2020 re-take; more specifically, Assignment 2 from the current version of the course or Assignment 3 from the older version of the course. In order to complete this practical assignment, you must submit your solution via Github and also pass an oral examination session.

• The oral examination will be performed as an individual Zoom meeting, which will take around 30 minutes for each student. The details for the Zoom meeting will be shared via Slack (the same Zoom meeting as used for the latest peer instruction sessions with Kostiantyn during spring semester 2020).
• Please sign up for a time slot using the following form: https://forms.gle/BQS5ZmE13nSqARyg6  ⇒ deadline for signing up: Tuesday, August 25, 15:00
• If all of the time slots for Wednesday in week 35 are booked, please contact Kostiantyn Kucher, and further slots will be decided on.
• Remember that the deadline for submitting any solutions is Tuesday, August 25. Please make a new release in your Github repository to indicate your submission. If you are submitting several assignments at the same time, please create several releases (one per assignment) and add appropriate release titles and descriptions. If you previously got a fail grade (“U”) for your assignment(s), please add a short note about how you addressed the feedback and improved your solution.
• Finally, if you have already passed the oral examination successfully, you do not have to do it again.

Dear students,

This announcement concerns those of you who have not completed (or failed) some parts of the course 1DV031. As it was announced previously at https://mymoodle.lnu.se/course/view.php?id=36989 , the course is going to be terminated, so several retake opportunities will be provided (August 2020, April 2021, August 2021).

• In order to be eligible to submit your retake assignments, you *must* officially sign up for the retake activity via Ladok (similarly to the formal registration process for exams in other courses, see https://lnu.se/student/under-studierna/tentamen/ )
• Deadline for the Ladok registration: August 12. We will not be able to accept your retake submissions if you do not register on time. When registering for the retake, please use the options corresponding to the course that you have taken. For example, the courses given until (and including) 2018 include Assignment 1 (1.5 hp), Assignment 2 (1.5 hp),  and Assignment 3 (4.5 hp). The courses given in 2019 and 2020 include Assignment 1 (2.5 hp) and Assignment 2 (5 hp) on Ladok.
• If you are signing up for the retake concerning the 2019 or 2020 course (i.e., Assignment 1 (2.5 hp) and/or Assignment 2 (5 hp)), you can follow the current assignment instructions (used for the 2020 course) available in this course page.
• If you are signing up for the retake concerning the older courses (that involved the older set of three assignments), please contact Kostiantyn Kucher <kostiantyn.kucher@lnu.se> (or via CoursePress Slack) for further instructions, as the instructions might change in this case.
• Deadline for the actual retake submission: August 25
• The oral examination associated with the final assignments will take place in week 35 after the deadline. Kostiantyn will post further instructions related to the oral examination in August.
