Scikit is a very popular machine learning library for Python. It also contains many features for visualizing data and classifiers.
Install at your computer
Installation instructions can be found here.
Here is a good getting started guide to Scikit.
Scikit on Mac
Installing Scikit on Mac can be a bit tricky if you don’t have a GCC compiler installed. I managed to install it using the following steps:
- Install NumPy:
pip3 install -U --user NumPy
- Download GCC, unpack it and copy to /usr/local/
- Download GFortran, unpack it and copy to /usr/local/
- Install SciPy:
pip3 install -U --user SciPy
- Install Scikit:
pip3 install -U --user scikit-learn
- Pip can only install packages for the current user, so you need to copy/move the installation folders to the system packages folder:
sudo cp -R ~Library/Python/2.7/lib/python/site-packages/numpy /Library/Python/2.7/site-packages/
sudo cp -R ~Library/Python/2.7/lib/python/site-packages/scipy /Library/Python/2.7/site-packages/
sudo cp -R ~Library/Python/2.7/lib/python/site-packages/scikit-learn /Library/Python/2.7/site-packages/
You can use Microsoft Azure for free for Python programming, including Scikit and Tensorflow libraries.
