Summarizing info

The course is now formally ended and my final compilation of course result is in progress. For those of you who were approved in all course parts at the time of the final test (15/1), I hope to report course grades at the end of this week 3. Any required “complementing’s” on your latest lab reports will also be corrected this week, but if you have unreported labs (or step test left to do) the information in previous posts applies. I may exceptionally correct single rest-labs beyound deadline, but only if request about late submission was agreed with me before January 14.

While still active on this course web, I would like to ask for a last – but crucial – contribution! A week ago (10/1), an invitation to perform a course evaluation was sent to your LNU student e-mail address. I am very grateful for your feedback on the course, which will helps us improve it – therefore I would be very happy if you spent a little time to share your experience! :)

Finally … I will be back to each one of you with personal grading information via email, and to anyone who I don’t get in touch with in other way, I would like to wish a good outcome of all continued work or studies!

Last C++ week and final test!

Soon you will have crossed the finish line in this course! If still having residual tasks left behind, you may report them during ongoing “pick-up-week” – before the absolute course deadline on January 14. Since it wasn’t desirable to put step test during the Christmas break, the test schedule has been pushed a bit further forward than regular course period. Therefore, the course’s major overview test is set on the last course date and can as usual be performed even the Monday thereafter.

The final test on January 14-15 is an overview test and therefore more comprehensive than previous tests – this test will cover topics from entire course. The number of questions will be 48 and the test time is hence prolonged to 120 minutes! The final test is performed according to same procedure as other tests, with one exception – the result cannot be improved by later re-testing. If failing (< 50%) you may re-do the test, but you cannot affect an already approved result by re-taking it. Therefore, it’s very important to be well prepared for the test!

If any test still failed after course deadline, a last chance to re-test for this course will be offered on January 21-22. Please note that this opportunity doesn’t apply to already approved tests! Next possibility to examine theory is to re-register for the course next year. Larger amount of residual labs will also be referred to the next course.

Wednesday, January 10, a personal invitation to conduct a course evaluation will be sent to you via your student e-mail. With the help of your answer, we may get to know if our web-based course has fulfilled your expectations and how its quality can be improved. I thank you in advance for your feedback, which will be very valuable to us!

I also wish you all good luck in the final sprint! :)

Reminder!

… about Steptest 6, which opens at noon today!

Just one final step remains …

… before you soon will reach the finish of this course! The newly started step 6 is the very last one and for those who got this far, the current topic – file handling – will probably not offer any major difficulties.

During Sunday to Monday, 7-8/1, it’s once again time for step test – this time the last ”regular” step test 6 runs. What then remains is the course’s final overview test (14/1). It spans the whole course theory, and therefore has a lot more questions (48) but also longer test time (120 minutes). This test is called “Final overview test, step 1 – 6″ in the Study plan, where you also find the details regarding final course deadline and (if needed) last chance for re-tests. (This exam time is only available for those who have a not-yet-passed test left to do!)
